Next weekend I will be taking part in the 2016 Pumpkin Run rally in Millsboro, Delaware as the navigator for Harald von Langsdorff. This is a time-speed rally that is organized by the Northeast Rally Club.
This year the Pumpkin Run rally will be held from October 14 – 16, 2016. The Northeast Rally Club events are open to vehicles of all ages although the older cars have a definite scoring advantage. The result is that there will be a wide variety of cars taking part in the Pumpkin Run. This is illustrated in the photo below that I took during the 2014 Pumpkin Run. The car on the left is a 1916 Hudson, a mid-1960s Mustang, and my 2003 Mercedes-Benz.

Harald and I had planned on using Harald’s recently acquired 1972 Mercedes-Benz 350SLC, but some unresolved engine issues have made the use of that car impossible at this time. As a result, we will be competing in Harald’s 2014 Mercedes-Benz GLA AMG. We had planned on this event helping us get experience with the 350SLC as a rally car in preparation for next year’s Great Race. Despite this setback, I look forward to taking part in this rally.
