For those who are competing in the 2017 Rallye Monte Carlo Historique it is very useful to have thorough notes and accurate distances for the route to be followed. The organizers of the rally provide the basic information about the route and competitors are on their own from there. Some competitors will make their own notes to help follow the course, but others might not have the time or skills to prepare their own notes. For these people buying notes prepared by others might be the best solution.
I will again be competing in the 2017 Rallye Monte Carlo Historique and our team will be using prepared notes by a Danish rally team, the A-Team Et Dansk Historisk Rally Team. I used road books prepared by these folks in the 2016 Rallye Monte Carlo Historique and found them to be very good and accurate.

Since 2008 Torben Arp assisted by Jens Gandrup Jørgensen have made road books for the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique so they have lots of experience in doing this. Supporting Torben and Jens is Arne Pagh who prepares the GPS-routes and is in charge of printing. Torben Arp lives in the south of France, and Arne Pagh lives in central Denmark. Both are experienced co-drivers as well as experienced clerks of the course on other rallies. Jens Gandrup Jorgenson, along with his son, Christan, are also regular competitors in the Rallye Monte Carlo Historique.

Once the route is announced by the rally organizers, the rally route will be driven through with notes and measurements being made. When the road books are finished in January, the first volume will be sent by mail to all the customers, while the other volumes will be handed over in Digne, France. This procedure is followed to avoid unauthorized copying of the material. The road books are prepared in the English language.
As noted, once again Dan Allven and I will be using the A-Team road books in the 2017 Rallye Monte Carlo Historique. In addition, I have found Jens to be very helpful in answering any questions that I had about participating in this rally. He is very knowledgeable about all aspects of rallying.
