As I noted in a post earlier this week, Nigel Cousins of Hambly Industries has been over in China for the start of the 2016 Peking To Paris Motor Challenge. Nigel was there assisting the cars that are fitted with GaugePilot rally computer. I posted some of Nigel’s pictures of cars at the start of the rally. Nigel saw my post about the Lancia B12 Aurelia rally car and sent me an email about that car as it got ready for the rally in China. The Lancia is shown in the photo below in China before the rally got underway.
The Lancia B12 Aurelia Before The Start Of The Peking To Paris
Nigel said that the car arrived in China with no trip odometer installed. As I noted, Nigel works for Hambly Industries who manufacture the GaugePilot rally computer. Nigel knew that the Lancia crew needed assistance, so he helped them install a Monit odometer despite that Monit is a competitor of Nigel’s company. Nigel said that he wanted to help the crew of the Lancia get on their way. Kudos to Nigel for helping the Lancia crew. this helpful nature is common in rallying. Maybe he will be able to sell the crew a GaugePilot rally computer for their next rally.
The Lancia B12 Aurelia Is Car #90 For the Peking To Paris Rally
Nigel also mentioned that the ‘Wheeler Dealers”, Mike Brewer and Edd China, who were planning on competing in the rally, withdrew from the Peking To Paris Motor Challenge about two weeks before the start of the Peking To Paris. At this time, I do not know why they had to withdraw.
