The Endurance Rally Association (ERA) has announced a new car rally for 2017. The Baltic Classic will be a two-week rally starting in Copenhagen on Sunday 28th May 2017, then passing through Sweden, Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland before finishing in Berlin on Saturday 10th June, 2017.
The Baltic Classic Rally will be open to both Vintage and pre-1976 Classic cars. The ERA notes that the Baltic Classic Rally will include plenty of gravel driving and forest sections on roads made famous in rallying lore by events such as the Rally of the Thousand Lakes and Rally Estonia.
The general route of the Baltic Classic Rally is shown below.
Route Of The 2017 Baltic Classic Rally
The route of the Baltic Classic Rally includes two substantial water crossings of the Baltic Sea. Taken all together this looks like it will be an interesting and challenging route through a part of the world that to a large extent, while part of Europe, is off the beaten path for typical tourists. While somewhat off the beaten path, the ERA promises to maintain their approach of providing the best in accommodations and dining along the route for the competitors.
