The 2016 Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) United States Road Rally Challenge (USRRC) will be hosted during the weekend of November 4, 5 and 6 by the New England Region (NER) of the SCCA. This event will be held with the 50th Anniversary of the Covered Bridge Rally. The Covered Bridge Rally is a major time-speed-distance rally in the New England Region and this year will be the 50th consecutive year of this rally and notably Ted Goddard has been the rallymaster for every Covered Bridge Rally. Those of us in the New England Region are very pleased to have Ted’s role in this rally acknowledged and honored by the SCCA in this way. In support of this rally, I know that those of us who are on the Rally Board for the New England Region are going to put together a full weekend of rally and automotive-related activities that will make this event the highlight of the 2016 SCCA road rally schedule.
New England Has Some Excellent Rally Roads In The Woods
This rally weekend will feature some very attractive Vermont roads and Ted always includes roads that include many covered bridges. At this time a Welcome Reception is planned for Friday night, but don’t be surprised if additional activities are added for Friday to supplement the overall rally weekend. The actual Covered Bridge Rally will take place on Saturday followed by a great dinner on Saturday evening. On Sunday, a half-day course rally will be held. For this course rally, rally legend John Buffum will be the rallymaster. An awards ceremony will be held after the rally on Sunday.

As the USRRC rally weekend program gets fully developed more information will be presented, but I would recommend to anyone interested in rallying that they mark their calendars to attend the USRRC weekend on November 4 to 6 in Vermont.
