In about two weeks, on November 25, 2015, the 2015 1000 Millas Sport rally will be getting underway in Argentina. This event is very similar, and in fact has been modeled after the famous Mille Miglia in Italy. The 1000 Millas Sport rally is based in Liao Llao, Argentina, near the border with Chile.
Area Of The 2015 1000 Millas Sport Rally
The rally has a total distance of just over a 1,000 miles which are covered over a period of 3 days. Each night the teams return to the same base hotel in Llao Llao.
An Enthusiastic 1000 Millas Sport Rally Competitor
The entry list for this year’s 1000 Millas Sport rally as of November 15, 2015 is available by clicking on the attached file Entry List 2015
Last year there were about 155 cars entered with five cars with at least one American competing. This year there are about the same number of cars entered, but unfortunately there is only one American taking part in the 2015 1000 Millas Sport. That one American is Milton Garcia who was the co-driver in a 1960 Maserati 3500GT last year, but this year Milton will be co-driving in a 1969 Jaguar XKE.
2015 Day 1 1000 Millas Sport Timing Sheet
Each day the competing teams are provided with a timing sheet which provides the required time, distance, speed between controls. I have included the timing sheet for the first day of the rally. Competitors are timed to the 1/100 second and penalized based on their difference between their time and the perfect time at each control.
