The Historique Monte Carlo Rallye Gets Fully Underway With Sunday’s Regularity Tests

Today’s route of the Historique Monte Carlo Rallye took the competitors from Monaco to Valence, France.  The team had two regularity sections in the morning and two in the afternoon.

The Passage Control shown above at Digne-les-Bains was located between the first two morning regularity sections.  In background looking at the buildings it can be seen that the day was quite sunny.

This image above is the noon Time Control at Gare de Clelles.  The teams have to check into these Time Controls on their assigned minute.  Note the presence of the clock just outside of the Easy-Up so the teams can see the official time as used by the Time Control marshalls.

Monday’s route from Valence will take the competitors on a route of about 380 kilometers that will circle back to Valence for Monday night.  During Monday the competitors will have four regularity test sections.  Once again the teams will have an early start as the official start time is 7:00am local time.  There are still 281 cars actively competing in the 2015 Historique Monte Carlo Rallye.

The team of David Ring and Peter Moss in the Datsun 240Z basically held their position at overall position 138 with a score of 12475 points.  A little behind them is the team of Philip Swain and David Green in a Ford Escort Mk. 1.
