This is a very late announcement, but I only found out a couple of days ago that David Pelham,a very well-known MG Y Type enthusiast, had passed away about eight weeks ago.
Below is the announcement from Peter Vielvoye, Chairman of the Y Type Register:
“David was a founder member of the Y Type Register and served on the committee until standing down a year ago. He was the authority on the MG YT and passionately researched the Tourer version of our cars. He was always ready to lend a hand to any owner in need of help or advice and he also wrote many articles to share his wide knowledge.
David had very strong opinions and beliefs about the way that the MGCC should be run and regularly kept us informed about the finer details of club affairs. He served as our PR officer in recent years where his skills were much appreciated by the whole Y community.
He will most recently be remembered for the excellent Tour of Brittany that he organised last year for 12 Y Types to retrace the footsteps of previous Y tours to the area.
David will be sorely missed by the many friends he had in the MG community. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his wife Shirley, and daughters Carole and Kirsty.”
David helped me with some information and comments on a post to this website that I made about the MG Y Series cars. I know that he will be missed by his family and the MG family.
