Bob Vogel Returns Home After 2012 Alcan 5000 Rally

I got a note yesterday from Bob Vogel saying that he has returned home to Massachusetts after his 2012 Alcan 500 rally adventure.  And what an adventure it was!  During the rally the competitors faced blocked roads due to heavy snowfalls and blowing snow.  However that did not stop Bob and his navigator Annette Murano from getting to the Arctic Ocean, even if they had to leave the revised official rally route caused by the block roads and give up a good Alcan 5000 rally finishing position.

Bob sent me a picture of his MINI at the Arctic Circle.  He was one of the few competitors who entered the Alcan 5000 who got to see the Arctic Circle.

In addition, Bob sent me a picture of their crossing into the Northwest Territories, the entrance to the real northern Canada.

Bob and I will be getting together in a few weeks and I look forward to hearing more of the story behind the story of the 2012 Alcan 5000 rally.
