Results of WRC’s 2012 Rally Mexico and Current WRC Driver Standings

This past weekend Citroen’s Sebastien Loeb won the Rally Mexico for the sixth time.  In another great result for Citroen, Loeb’s teammate, Miko Hirvonen, finished second.

On Stage 22 of Rally Mexico’s 24 stages, one of Loeb’s major rivals, Jari Matti Latvala in a Ford, rolled dropping him out of contention for any points.  At the time Latvala was in third position, so his roll allowed his Ford teammate, Petter Solberg, to move up to take the final podium spot.

Mads Otsberg, in a Ford, had a late puncture but still managed to finish fourth, ahead of Ott Tanak, in another Ford.  It was Tanak’s best WRC result yet.

Nasser Al-Attiyah Had a Good Finish at Rally Mexico

Robby Gordon’s former Dakar Rally teammate, Nasser Al-Attiyah, scored a very impressive sixth place result.  American Ken Block finished ninth in Rally Mexico.
