2012 Rally of the 100 Acre Wood Results

Yesterday, the second round of the Rally America season, The Rally of the 100 Acre Wood was held in Salem, Missouri.  At this event Ken Block continued his domination by winning this rally for the 6th time in a row!  That is a remarkable accomplishment given the large number of things that can bite you during a stage rally, not to mention that you must out drive your competitors!

Ken Block Wins The Rally of the 100 Acre Wood for the 6th Straight Time!

Finishing in the second overall position was David Higgins/Craig Drew in the Subaru Rally Team USA’s entry.  In third place was multi-time Polish rally champion Krzysztof Holowzyc.  Many of you who followed the 2012 Dakar Rally will recognize Holowczyc as a MINI Team driver who did very well until a very late mechanical problem put him out of contention.

The Super Production Class was won by the team of O’Sullivan/Putnam followed by the always very competitive team of Hanson/Hanson.

In the 2WD Class was not surprisingly won by Chris Duplessis.  In something of a surprise Andrew Comrie-Picard with co-driver Brian O’Kane finished second in a 2011 Scion xD, just ahead of two Ford Fiestas.  Andrew clearly has the driving skills and perhaps Scion xD is getting a little faster to give the Fords a run.  This could be an interesting competition to watch as the series goes on.

This rally had a very strong field with some very good teams registered a DNF at this event.
