Jim Kenzie’s 2012 Calendar is Now Available

Last week I got an email from Jim Kenzie, Chief Auto Reviewer for the Toronto Star’s Wheels Section.  Jim’s day job might be at the Toronto Star, but I know him as a fellow competitor at Targa Newfoundland.  This past year Jim and his co-driver, Brian Bourbonniere, had some bad luck at Targa Newfoundland when their MINI developed an unknown electrical problem which caused them to retire from the event on the second day of Targa.  By the way at Targa Newfoundland, Brian Bourbonniere was kind enough to sympathize with me, while I was ranting about a time/clock issue.

For the past seven years Jim has been prepared a calendar to raise money for SMARTRISK.  The calendars are quite nice. Most of Jim’s email is reproduced below:
You have supported our little calendar project in the past, so I hardly need to describe it in much detail!
I figure that even in today’s digital world, every home or office should have a printed calendar hanging on a wall – no-one has yet come up with a digital device that lets you scribble additional notes in the margins…
I also figure that as a car enthusiast, you’d like yours to have pictures of fine automobiles each month – mostly exotics, some more
work-a-day, usually in semi-exotic settings like Rovinj Croatia, Reggio Emilia Italy, Milton Ontario…

The calendars cost $14.95 each (plus HST, of course). We are quite proud of the fact that entering our seventh year we have been able to avoid raising our price!
Unlike most charity calendars which donate a dollar or two, fully half of all net proceeds from calendar sales goes directly to SMARTRISK, an organization which is dedicated to helping young people recognize and minimize the risks inherent in growing up. Actually, SMARTRISK programs aren’t aimed only at young people – intelligent management of risk can benefit anyone.
For more details, visit their web site:

If you would like to purchase a calendar, you can visit my web site http://www.jimkenzie.com  Purchases can be made via PayPal, or by cheque.
I personally autograph every calendar – dedicated to the purchaser or intended recipient if requested.
The calendars also make excellent holiday gifts for any car enthusiast!
Cheers, and thanks again for your consideration,
Jim Kenzie

I have purchased my calendar from Jim and would encourage others do the same – it’s a good calendar for a good cause!
