H&H Classic Rallies: A New Endurance Rally Company

About two weeks ago, I got an email message from David Wenman introducing me to a new endurance rally company H&H Classic Rallies.  H& H Classic Rallies will holding a number of endurance type rallies, both competitive and regularity rallies, for  cars up to 1972.  The founders of H&H Classic Rallies are Simon Hope of H&H Auctions, John Brigden of World Wide Classic Car Rallies and Liz and David Wenman.  The company was only formed this fall and already they have some rallies planned.

The first event for the new company is the Rally of Rajasthan in February 2012. The 2,600km event will stay at many fine hotels and combines competitive stages with a chance to visit historic forts, fantastic palaces, exotic temples as well as the Taj Mahal.

In 2012, H&H Classic Rallies will also be inviting entries for the Tiger Rally, which is routed from Penang in Malaysia to Bangkok via Laos and Cambodia.  In 2013 a new rally round South America will run at the start of the year with a Himalaya Challenge in late summer. Entries are now open for these rallies.

For details on these rallies check out their website: www.hhclassicrallies.com

H&H Auctions is reputable British auction house and, as a result, I think that H&H Classic Rallies will be a reputable endurance rally company as well.  They have assembled some very experienced rally people to fill the key positions.

The rally director is John Brigden who has more than 12 years’ experience organizing rallies round the world, including endurance events such as The Himalaya Classic Rallies (2006, 2007 and 2009), The Tiger Classic Rally (2008 and 2011), The Maya Classic Rally (2010) and the Cuba Classic Rally (2011). Formerly Manager of the last Mini Works Rally team (1994 to 1997) which had Paddy Hopkirk as the No 1 driver, he has a wealth of experience organizing teams and events.

Clerk of the Course is John Trevethick, an equally experienced rally man, who worked with Nick Brittan on many of his great events, including the London to Sydney (2000 and 2004) and other long distance rallies.

David Wenman, is the Finance Director of H&H Classic Rallies while his wife, Liz Wenman, is the Managing Director of H&H Classic Rallies.  Their goal is to create rallies that are a truly great experience, great fun and memorable for the right reasons.  These rallies will be based on providing a good adventure, followed by a broad range of countries to be visited as well as dedicated customer service.

One Response to H&H Classic Rallies: A New Endurance Rally Company

Sounds interesting. But I think the Cuba Classic Rally never got off the ground; I recall looking into it. And its website has no results or pics of cars. Hope this new outfit does better than that. Cheers, Lew Toulmin
